The Conductor's house

The Conductor's House, minutes from Whitefish with a "middle of nowhere" feel is located on beautiful Farm To Market Road. The home has been completely rebuilt for the 21st century complete with wifi. The main house has three bedrooms and a large bonus room that can be a master bedroom or living space. Beds in the main house are all pillow top mattresses and consist of 2 queens, 1 full, 1 twin and a fold out queen in the master/bonus room. The guest cabin has a pillowtop queen in the bedroom and a full in the sleeping loft. There are also couches that make for a nice place to lay your head.
The proximity to civilization is comfortable, with the resort town of Whitefish a mere 10 minutes away and Kalispell (Costco anyone?) 25 minutes away via country roads. Whitefish Mountain Resort (aka Big Mountain)is visible from the home and short drive once in Whitefish proper, the airport is also nearby. Glacier National Park is less than an hour away and the road to Tally Lake, the deepest lake in Montana is just around the corner, as is Kuhns Wildlife Preserve. Recreation? Our biggest problem is deciding what to do next. Mountains, lakes, rivers and forests provide the backdrop for all types of adventures from serene to extreme. In summer this house sits in prime Mountain Bike, Road Bike and Dirt Bike territory with access to amazingly good riding right out the front door. Forty five minutes to the north is the fantastic sport climbing area of Stone Hill. Canoeing, kayaking and motorized water sports abound, and those same bodies of water provide world class flyfishing. In winter you can cross country ski or snowshoe out the door for miles on fresh powder, or head to nearby Stillwater Lodge for fantastic groomed XC trails. Whitefish Mountain Resort is a mecca for ridiculously good snow and uncrowded slopes. Check with the owners for local knowledge. For serious backcountry skiers, the entire region from the Whitefish Range to Glacier Park is home to epic tours. Just a note: Our neighbor enjoys shooting skeet 1/4 mile away so grab a cocktail and sit on the back deck to see if your eyes can spot the clay birds. The skeet shooting never continues for long, and is generally only used for an hour or two a week. We look forward to seeing you.
